Education

Introduction

In the community and at the Capitol, we’re committed to educating the public on the benefits, safeguards, and responsible regulation of hemp and cannabis. Our goal is to replace stigma with understanding and empower both consumers and policymakers with facts rooted in science, agriculture, and transparency.

Challenge

Public misunderstanding and outdated laws continue to blur the line between hemp and marijuana—creating unnecessary fear, confusion, and barriers for small businesses. Without clear, science-based education, Pennsylvania risks losing an industry that supports thousands of local jobs and farmers.

“The future of hemp and cannabis depends on informed citizens, not misinformed fear.”
Problem

Despite hemp’s legality under federal law, misinformation remains widespread. Many lawmakers and citizens still don’t understand the difference between hemp and high-THC cannabis, leading to harmful legislation and inconsistent enforcement.

Solution

We believe education is the first step toward meaningful policy. The Guild works to:

  1. Host Community Forums & Listening Sessions – Bringing farmers, operators, and consumers together to discuss facts and address misconceptions.

  2. Engage Lawmakers & Regulators – Providing research-backed insights and testimony on hemp’s economic and agricultural importance.

  3. Publish Clear, Accessible Resources – Offering data and guidance that empower small businesses to operate confidently and compliantly.

  4. Partner with Schools & Universities – Supporting educational programs that explore hemp’s agricultural, environmental, and economic potential.
